    Macon’s independent newspaper, The 11th Hour, organized this virtual venue to help local bands, especially new ones, get their feet wet with more time on local stages. But more than that, the Local 478 has become an exhaustive resource and directory of local musicians, venues, support services and the like, as well as a place where local shows can be advertised and local bands can get their work reviewed. It also offers a free monthly showcase of local talent as part of NewTown Macon’s Friday Fest series and helps folks find out what’s going on, especially downtown, at favorite Macon haunts with favorite Macon artists.
