Saint Joseph Catholic Church
Crowning downtown Macon with its 200 ft. twin cross-topped spires, St. Joseph is a landmark among Macon’s magnificent architectural jewels. Constructed of red brick and white marble with copper roofing and more than 60 stained glass windows, the active church of 1,200 families is one of Macon’s most visited attractions. Inside, massive columns of Georgia marble support beautiful ceilings while dazzling white altars made of Italian marble grace the front of the church. Romanesque neo-gothic in style, Saint Joseph Church is reminiscent of Europe’s great cathedrals located in the heart of downtown Macon, Georgia.
