Theatre Macon
Established in 1985, Theatre Macon provides Macon’s most intimate performance space in the restored downtown Ritz Theater building on Cherry Street. The theatre presents six major productions in its regular season, featuring comedy, drama and musicals, as well as at least one summer show, usually a major musical. Theatre Macon also provides education and training in developing interests and skills in plays, play writing, play acting, and production techniques and an opportunity for apprenticeship in community theatre operation. Its popular Youth Actors Company provides area youth with the opportunity to pursue their interests in the theatre arts. Carrie Preston, known for her role as Arlene on HBO's "True Blood," acted through Theatre Macon.
