    Mitch Kersey, Uber Stylist

    1. Where did you grow up? I moved a lot growing up. As a small child I grew up partially in a one red light town called Adrian. The rest of my childhood was spent between Dublin and Sandersville.
    2. How did that influence you? I believe I have been heavily influenced by where I grew up. I went to elementary school with only about 15 people in my grade. Growing up in rural areas in Georgia has helped shape my personality. Living in a larger city has helped me understand just how different people are depending on where they grew up.
    3. What is your favorite thing to do in Macon? Wow, I enjoy so many things here in Macon. If I had to choose one thing that I look forward to on a regular basis, it would have to be Second Sunday in Washington Park!
    4. What is one thing that people would not see at first glance? At first glance? Hmm……I would say at first glance people probably would see I am extremely passionate about my beliefs, my work, my family, and my friends.
    5. What has been the most significant accomplishment in your life? Why? I believe I am right in the middle of the most signigicant accomplishment. It’s called life and I hope it takes many more years to complete.
    6. Do you have a hidden talent? A lot of people may not know I sing.
    7. What movie would best describe you? Forrest Gump
    8. What do you do best? Hmm…I think I’m a pretty darn good hair stylist.
    9. Who in your life has most influenced you? My grandfather. He was such an amazing man. He was kind, gentle, funny, smart, strong-willed….I strive to be like him.
    10. Tell me about a challenge that you overcame. Leaving a career to go to hair school was a huge challenge. I gave up everything to follow my dreams and looking back on it….well….Im not sure I could do it again but I wouldn’t change a thing.
    11. What do you do for fun in your free time? If I’m not spending time with my friends or traveling somewhere, I am hanging out with my two dogs having a glass of wine.
    12. How do you define success? I think success is having accomplished or working to accomplish the goals each of us want in life whether it be in business, or in our personal lives.
    13. Who do you most admire? Oprah Winfrey
    14. Did you move around a lot? Yes, too many times to count.
    15. Are there any issues you feel passionately about? I feel very passionate about the well being of our city and the opinions people have about it. First impressions are everything and the areas in and around downtown Macon are the first thing people look at when visiting our city. If we can’t get our own citizens to come together and realize downtown as our city center and want it to be the very best, (as many other cities have) I don’t feel there will be much of a future for economic growth. Downtown should be our showcase!
    16. Do you have a nickname? Most of my friends call me Mitchy Poo!
    17. Where is your favorite place to visit? Anywhere mountainous. I never feel so at peace as I do when I am in a cabln in the mountains.
    18. What book are you reading right now? I wish I had time and concentration to read a book.
    19. What’s hot? Skinny Jeans
    20. What’s not? Pants on the ground…Buy some freakin pants that fit!!!!!!
