    Flannery O’Connor, Sidney Lanier, Alice Walker, and Joel Chandler Harris are well-known historical literary figures hailing from central Georgia, but the area continues to produce generation after generation of talented writers. From novelists and poets to comic book and screen writers, the pen finds its way into gifted hands throughout the area. They, and other southern writers, are invited to a three-day conference and festival in Macon each October to study, learn and share their craft with each other and with literary fans at the symbolic crossroads of Georgia.
