    The film industry is organically growing and community developers are supporting this artistic trend. The Macon Film festival attracts international film makers and celebrities each February. Hundreds of independent films compete for prizes and workshops offer aspiring directors and producers and opportunity to converse and collaborate. A recent film competition awarded three film makers the opportunity to shoot their projects entirely in Macon. The Macon Shorts films will be screened during a block in the upcoming Macon Film Festival. Nostalgic traditions are honored in seasonal parades and a local dance company presents a holiday classic each winter.
