Macon Film Festival
What do the nation’s second oldest municipal baseball park, a 1950s era motor lodge, an 1850s mansion and a working granite quarry have in common? Each has appeared in films shot in Macon, Georgia. Every year, the city of Macon has a starring role when hundreds of film makers come to compete. They showcase original works in the Macon Film Festival, which is quickly becoming the hottest film festival in the South, offering innovative and imaginative films both mainstream and independent in nature. Historic theaters host screenings, trendy clubs and eateries open their doors with special fare and local film commissioners offer location scouts and tours in hopes of snagging the next great movie to be shot on location in Macon, Georgia.
