Washington Park
Washington Park is perfectly charming. Designed as a natural amphitheatre along the slope of Magnolia Street, it is bordered on three sides by a running stream. Shady magnolias and rustic stone walls border the venue with beautiful flowering bushes and plants. You couldn’t choose a lovelier spot to read a book during a lunch break or host a romantic picnic. Washington Park has become an iconic backdrop for family photos and intimate weddings.
From March to October, College Hill hosts Second Sunday Brunch in Washington Park; a crowd of hundreds gathers there in the early afternoon for a free concert and community picnic. The annual Soapbox Derby is held on Magnolia Street each April and is also growing attraction for the young and young-at-heart.
