If you thought that the only place to spot famous people is in Hollywood, you thought wrong! Macon is becoming a popular spot for celebrities to come and visit in addition to the dozens of movies that are being filmed daily all over Georgia. The southern hospitality of middle Georgia, the exceptional food as well as a rich history are just few of the reasons celebrities keep coming back to Middle Georgia. With dozens of famous celebrities such as Jack McBrayer and Carrie Preston hailing from Georgia, it isn’t unlikely that you will find a lot of celebrities in and around the Peach State.
This past weekend, Macon played host to two celebrities; Gregg Allman and Paula Deen. Allman, a "gifted natural interpreter of the blues" was rocking downtown at the Cox Capital Theater with his SOLD OUT show on May 7th.
Just a few blocks away, Paula Deen was in downtown Macon as this year's celebrity judge for Dancing Stars of Central Georgia that benefited the Alzheimer’s Association in Georgia.
But not before Deen stopped in and toured the Big House Museum.
After a jam packed night, Deen ended the evening on a high note as she and her husband dined on Chef Kevin McCauley's Nashville Hot Chicken at the H&H on Forsyth Street in downtown Macon.
