Television Series Set To Film In Macon

Film crews are scheduled to arrive in Macon next week to begin filming a new TV series, Brockmire at Historic Luther Williams field.

According to Variety, "The Jim Brockmire story tells the true story of a truly old-school sportscaster who was well before his time. He set the standard for how to call a baseball game and he loved his wife more than anything else until one fateful day when his sportscasting career changed forever."

Based on a Funny Or Die short, Brockmire centers on a famed Major League Baseball announcer (Hank Azaria) who suffers an embarrassing and very public meltdown on the air after discovering his beloved wife’s serial infidelity. A decade later, Jim Brockmire decides to reclaim his career and love life in a small town, calling minor league ball for the Morristown Frackers.  Amanda Peet will play Jules, the strong-willed owner of a struggling minor league baseball team located in a small American rust belt town that has seen better decades.

Film crews will begin production on June 22nd and shooting is scheduled to finish July 15th.
