Comfort Farms Hosts Bizarre Foods' Andrew Zimmern

On a quest to find the world's most unique tastes on Bizarre Foods, Andrew Zimmern, Chef and Host of The Travel Channel's Bizarre Food, stopped by and visited with Army Veteran John Jackson of Comfort Farms in Milledgeville; an applauded Veteran owned and operated agri-therapy program for military veterans.  

While the premise of Zimmern's visit to Comfort Farms is being kept under wraps, Comfort Farms is well known for their unwavering support of veterans and the farm's implemented program designed to heal and assist veterans from all over adapt to their new way of life. Comfort Farms is an agri-therapy farm where Veterans can raise American Mule Foot hogs for their pork program, grow fresh food and learn culinary techniques. Comfort Farms helps vets acquire a new skill set while empowering Veterans to revive the desire to succeed and be a part of a "community focused on achieving something great again," while regaining the discipline and pride that was instilled in them when they enlisted.

Also, on hand for today's filming at Comfort Farms was Joe Zawacki from The Dirt Farmers, Ryan Smith of Macon MGMT and Stebin Horne, local Mercer Innovation Fellow and CEO and Founder of Kudu Safari Braai.  Comfort Farms used Horne's Kudu grill, an African inspired wood-burning grill, griddle and fire pit to cook the farm's Suckling American Mule Foot pig and Mangalista from Comfort Farm's pork program among other locally grown culinary delights.
