See Little Richard's Childhood Home Before It Moves

Rock Candy Tours wants you to know that the home where Little Richard and his family lived when "Tutti Frutti" was released in 1955 is going to be moved from its current location of 1540 Fifth Ave. sometime soon. Rock Candy Tours suggest you get your picture taken with the home BEFORE the move is made as that whole area will be drastically changed by the widening of the interstate.

According to Sam Henderson, executive assistant to Macon Mayor Robert Reichert, the renovated home will include historical information on the lives of Little Richard, whose real name is Richard Penniman, and other prominent people in the Pleasant Hill neighborhood, said Sam Henderson, executive assistant to Macon Mayor Robert Reichert.

Need directions?  To get there take Georgia Ave. away from Downtown and hang a right at Church's Chicken. Follow that road down to Fifth and hang a left. Little Richards home is on the left corner before the interstate.
