Open Streets Macon Postponed Until October 1, 2017

Open Streets Macon Postponed Till October 1, 2017

In a statement released this morning from Rachel Hollar, Executive Director of Bike Walk Macon:

As you may have heard, there's some ugly weather headed our way this weekend. After a lot of thought, the Open Streets Macon team has decided to postpone this Sunday's event due to highly expected thunderstorms.

I know that many of you are excited to play in the streets this Sunday and on behalf of the committee, I would like to apologize for the cancelation, especially to those of you who committed to volunteering or hosting an activity.

Unfortunately, the weather is beyond our control but we intend to make the next Open Streets Macon event even more fun and spectacular! Save the date for the next Open Streets Macon on October 1, 2017 from 2 to 6 pm.

So we won't enjoy car-free streets this weekend, but we will continue to work to create a happier, healthier by making active transportation an option for all Maconites! And, WE WILL play in the streets together again - just not this weekend. Please be safe and stay tuned for details about the next Open Streets Macon.
