Macon-Bibb County Debris Removal Update

As you begin the cleanup process at your home or business of debris from Hurricane Irma, please follow these tips from Macon-Bibb. While emergency crews are now primarily focused on getting the streets clear, the next step will be to clear and remove residential storm debris making our streets passable again.  If you still have downed trees Georgia Power is urging everyone to stay clear of the lines. Georgia Power and Macon-Bibb are working together and have dispatched teams out all over the county, along with dozens of community partners, to aid in recovery.

There's still a LOT more to do out there, and crews are out in force again today. As of 10am Wednesday (September 13th), crews have reopened 62 roads and are working closely with Georgia Power to reopen more as well as fixing traffic signals at 40 intersections Tuesday.

For more up-to-date information, visit Macon-Bibb Emergency Management's website or find them on Facebook.
