How to Avoid a Parking Ticket in Downtown Macon:

  • Download the Passport Parking app to pay by phone. You get text or email reminders when your parking is about to expire!
  • Do not park longer than 3 hours at a parking meter. Even if the meter is paid, you will be ticketed if parked in the same space longer than 3 hours.
  • Park in a garage if parking long term. The hourly rates are cheaper to park in a garage and you do not have to move your vehicle every 3 hours!
  • Keep a change roll in your glovebox. If parking for a few minutes, don’t risk it! Drop a nickel or dime in the meter. Even though the meters take credit card and mobile app payments, meters are a good way to make use of that spare change in your car.
