Uber Eats will launch its delivery service in Macon today and will connect users to restaurants in the area, company officials announced in a press release this week.
According to the release, customers can expect to get their food quickly, with an average delivery time under 31 minutes after the order has been placed. The delivery fee is a flat rate of $4.99. The fee can also increase if there is a high increase in activity in the area. Restaurants that are currently delivering via Uber Eats: Fatty’s Pizza, Parish on Cherry, Overtyme Bar and Grill and McDonald’s.
Operating in a similar way to the ride service, people will be able to order dishes from a range of cuisines on the UberEATS app or by visiting Uber Eats online. To use the service, customers download the free UberEATS app on their smartphone, where they can order food from restaurants and track where the delivery driver is at along the way. The delivery service is $4.99, plus the amount that the food costs.
Here’s how UberEATS works:
1. Download the free standalone UberEATS app for iOS or Android
2. Login with your Uber account
3. Find a restaurant you know and love, and pick what you want from their menu
4. Pay with your card on file
5. Watch as the order is picked up and delivered to you
The app is free to download.
You can also visit UberEats.com to order food and have it delivered.
