Macon-Bibb Coroner Leon Jones wants to give you a ride in a van this Super Bowl Sunday, not a hearse.
Jones has elected not to watch the big game so that he can drive fans to bars, tailgates, parties and nightclubs to keep them from drinking and driving. Starting Sunday, between 3 p.m. and midnight, Jones will take people to their parties and bring them home within the county limits. He wants to make sure people stay safe and avoid getting a D.U.I.
Once already this year, Macon-Bibb Coroner Leon Jones, offered free NYE rides in 2014, picking up party goers to prevent them from drinking and driving. Jones picked them up and delivered them to their NYE destination and then picked them back up, delivering them safely to their home anywhere in Bibb County until 4 am January 1st.
Coroner Jones will start taking ride reservations today (Friday, February 1st) on a first come, first serve basis.
