Historic Vineville Christmas Tour of Homes

Mark your calendars and purchase your tickets to tour homes in one of Macon’s most architecturally pleasing and charming neighborhoods

Tickets are now available for Historic Vineville’s much-anticipated Christmas Tour of Homes to be held from 1:00- 6:00pm on Saturday and Sunday, December 5 and 6.   Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 on the day of the tour.  Advance tickets are available at Creter’s on Ingleside Ave., Chi Chester’s on Vineville Ave., Travis Jean’s on Cherry St., Historic Macon’s offices at Sidney Lanier Cottage, or on line at www.vineville.org.

The Historic Vineville neighborhood was one of Macon’s first suburbs and has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1980.  This year’s tour showcases a rare look into the delightful bungalows, cottages and community garden.  As an added bonus for tour participants, this year we’ve included a tour of The Big House and Allman Brothers Band Museum which is located within the neighborhood.  The neighborhood’s semi-annual tour is an exceptional opportunity for guest to go inside these private homes lavishly decorated with style and care for the holidays.

This year’s tour will also feature hands-on demonstrations in each of the homes.  Stay tuned for updates as we release these exciting new elements.

The Vineville Neighborhood Association is proudly hosting a Saturday evening event where visitors are invited to a reception at The Big House and Allman Brothers Band Museum.  This popular and separately-ticketed event includes live entertainment, wine and hors d’ oeuvres. The reception will be held from 6:00pm to 9:00pm on Saturday, December 5. Admission is $10.00 in advance and $15.00 at the door with tickets available at all outlets listed above.

Ample parking available!  Parking and day-of-the-event tickets will be available in the parking lot at Vineville Baptist Church, 2591 Vineville Ave.  Enter the parking lot at the corner of Hines Terrace and Vineville Avenue and look for the Historic Vineville Christmas Tour of Homes signage.  Can’t miss it!

About the Historic Vineville Neighborhood Association:

The Historic Vineville Neighborhood Association (VNA) is an active and dynamic organization open to all residents of the Historic Vineville District and to anyone interested in the preservation of the area as an economic and social asset of Macon. Founded in 1978, the VNA was responsible for collecting the necessary data on neighborhood homes for consideration as an historic district by the U.S. Department of the Interior’s National Register of Historic Places. The neighborhood achieved this status in 1980.  Today, the neighborhood is a southern architectural gem that hundreds of families from all ages call home.  With dozens of annual events for neighbors to enjoy, the VNA strives to foster a strong and active community environment while enriching the greater Macon community.
