The Mayor serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Macon-Bibb County, with all executive powers and supervision of administrative affairs of the consolidated government. The Mayor also must faithfully execute and enforce all ordinances, resolutions, and regulations of the consolidated government and of the state. The Mayor’s Office consists of a professional staff that assists the Mayor in these duties and others defined by the consolidated government charter.

Composed of nine members, the Macon-Bibb County Board of Commissioners is the legislative branch of the Macon-Bibb County Government. This body enacts the laws, ordinances, and resolutions for local consolidated government. Commissioners are elected every four years.
The Macon-Bibb County Board of Commissioners meet at 6:00 p.m. every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month at the Macon – Bibb County Government Center (formally known as Macon City Hall).
Committee meetings are held every 2nd and 4th Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. at the Government Center.
