Georgia Sports Hall of Fame

Georgia’s sports history is as rich as its clay is red, and nowhere is that more evident than at the state’s official Sports Hall of Fame in downtown Macon, Georgia.  Dedicated to athletes, coaches, trainers and other supporters who have contributed to the state of Georgia’s storied past and present, the massive hall of the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame and Museum--the country’s largest state sports museum--showcases the best in prep, college, amateur and professional athletics in Georgia, including special exhibits from the 1996 Olympics and Paralympics that were hosted in Georgia.  Its Hall of Fame corridor showcases the achievements of over 300 inductees, each one a standout with a great story in the history of Georgia athletics and a contributor to Georgia's rich sports heritage.  A family favorite among Georgia sports fans and Georgia history buffs young and old, the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame stands as a 43,000 square-feet, state-of-the-art, Middle GA "don't-miss" amid attractions near Atlanta.  Dynamic interactive areas within the 14,000 square feet of adrenaline-fuled exhibit space at GSHF include a full-size NASCAR simulator, basketball court, football field goal, and professional announcer’s booth where fans can try their hand at calling some of the state’s greatest plays.

As the official sports heritage museum of the state of Georgia, The Hall serves to collect, preserve, and interpret the history of sports in Georgia, and to share this rich history with citizens and guests.  The Georgia Sports Hall of Fame also works to be a positive influence on Georgia’s youth through educational programs that promote character development and physical fitness, in addition to fullfilling its mission to honor those who by their outstanding achievement or service have made lasting contributions to sports in Georgia, the nation, and the world.

The Georgia Sports Hall of Fame and Museum welcomes tour groups of all ages and sizes and can make accommodations for special requests of your group with a reservation, whether it's an on-site lunch or a guided tour that highlights your particular area of interest.  School groups are welcomed to take advantage of what is always a fun and engaging educational opportunity for students here in Macon and Middle Georgia, and educator discounts and special activity programs are available.

Regular hours of operation for the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame and Museum are Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
