Guitar Center Announces New Studio Manager George Murray.

George Murray attended school at The Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences in Tempe, Arizona becoming a Professional Audio Engineer. After completing school he completed an internship at The Masquerade in Atlanta, which quickly became a full time position as Front of House engineer. He made his way in the music scene in Atlanta working with R.IT.E Media Group and many major recording studios in town. This experience lead to working with leaders in the recording industry including names such as Mary J. Blige, R-Kelly, B.O.B, and Disney’s Cheetah Girls, just to name a few. Currently when not working full-time at Guitar Center he spends a vast amount of his time planning events for Corner Concerts which he co-owns with Andrew Eck. You might also see him shooting photography around downtown Macon or DJ’ing a wedding or two.

George has recently accepted the position of Studios Manager with Guitar Center Macon, which specializes in Private Music Lessons and free workshops for all skill levels; from beginner to pro. Guitar Center regularly offers scheduled workshops, hosted by Guitar Center Studios Instructors at their store and throughout the community at different venues including Otis Redding Camp and Spark Macon. George has partnered Guitar Center and Spark Macon to host free workshops in a family friendly environment. Their most recent workshop was hosted by the Guitar Center team, cleverly named: “Gimmie a Beat” Macon Day of Percussion, where they offered a free drum clinic and gave away prizes to those in attendance. George is excited to bring more workshops out of Guitar Center to accommodate larger crowds.

Guitar Center Macon is excited to have George in his new role and we look forward to the excellent community outreach that we know he will bring to our enterprise.
