Francar's At Mercer Village
Open since 1993, it is the Granddaddy of wing places in Macon, and is now located in the heart of Mercer Village. Francar’s has over 40 different wing sauces to choose from, so there is something to please everyone. We hear that Zeus himself had a hand in their level four sauces, so get ready for some fire. Although we love the huge selection of not so spicy sauces. Try our personal favorite sauce, Tangy Peach, which has the perfect amount of sweetness and spice.

The Bear's Den
For over 25 years, The Bear's Den has been producing the south's best home cooking. Conveniently located near downtown Macon, they offer dine-in, take out, pan pick up, and full catering options. The menu changes daily so check out their website to find out what’s being served today. The food is always fresh, hot and delicious. The take-out is so easy just walk in and let them know what you want, I don’t think we have ever waited more than 5 minutes to just get it and go. So many options every day always make it a difficult decision.

Place to eat this summer
Fish N’ Pig Restaurant
Located on a choice piece of real estate along the shores of Lake Tobesofkee the Fish N’ Pig took full advantage of the scenic view by incorporating an expansive wrap-around outdoor porch allowing diners to enjoy the lake life while eating and drinking.
With a menu featuring plenty of seafood options and of course Pork with some Chicken and beef throw in, the Fish N’ Pig has something for your summertime appetite and some great combos that live up to the aptly named restaurant.
We recommend a late evening meal around 8pm to get the full effect of outdoor lake front dining and with a little luck the lake breeze will keep you cool. The Fish N’ Pig also features live music on Friday and Saturday evenings (See Calendar here)
Place to dine Healthy
Molly’s in downtown Macon combines the elegance of fine dining with the casual and friendly atmosphere of a lunch cafe. Molly’s has rotating specials, including several Southern-style dishes, along with sandwiches, wraps, salads, soups and more!
Molly's is named after the Little Richard song "Good Golly, Miss Molly" because we are located at the very corner where Little Richard performed. Open Monday thru Friday for lunch & for special events.

Obviously we are not alone in our love of Ming’s, all you Maconites were voting hard to make sure it topped our top 5 Chinese takeout list! There are a few reasons why Ming’s deserves the top slot in our opinion. The prices are extremely reasonable for both college student budgets and those with tight purse strings and an ardent love of Chinese food. Reason number two: the food is fantastic, ask anyone that’s a regular at Ming’s and they will recommend their favorite dish to you.
Their fried rice might just be the best in Macon and their sweet and sour shrimp is a must try. Ming’s also sets itself apart by offering healthy dishes that are sure to appeal to those looking for more waistline conscious options.

place to eat vegetarian
Back to Edenz
After re-opening their doors at a new location in August of 2014, this completely vegetarian restaurant made all vegetarians in Macon rejoice collectively! Served buffet style, and priced by the pound, this restaurant is for anyone interested in trying “meatless” meat. Their proprietary family recipe for “meatloaf” is simply out-of-this-world, and make sure to try other southern staples such as “fried chicken” and “sausage” gumbo. They have delectable desserts and home-brewed iced tea as well.
The woman who worked the counter was super-friendly and very knowledgeable about vegetarian cuisine. She was happy to answer any questions I had about the food, and made me feel right at home from the moment I walked through the door! Highly recommended and absolutely delicious!

Thai Pepper has a little of everything, Japanese, Sushi and Thai. We are particularly fond of the Red Curry which maybe the best in the area. The Thai stir fry with garlic sauce is excellent as well. If you’re looking for some serious heat order “Fire Starter”, the name basically says it all. A perfect medium is two peppers, It’s plenty of heat and I can still taste the actual food. Everything always comes out of the kitchen fresh, almost like they have a garden and they just plucked the veggies from it. The rice is always cooked perfect and the wait staff is friendly and efficient. You are never kept waiting long and they always come back often to refill drinks and check to make sure everything is up to par. It’s not a huge restaurant, which adds to its charm and personality. If you love Thai, Japanese or Sushi and you haven’t tried Thai Pepper…. You’re missing out!
bowl of soup
We are always impressed with Joe D’s Selection of Soups! It always seems to be a wet and cold day when I wheel into Joe D’s with my mouth set on a cup of steaming soup. Served out of huge black pots perched on the counter, they are impossible to miss. An all-time favorite of mine is the chili, but their vegetable soup is a close second to grandma’s. The Brunswick stew is excellent as well! They always have daily soups, so stop on by and see what’s on special. You won’t be disappointed! They are only open for lunch, but once you go once you will find time to stop by again and again! See their enhanced listing>>
