Greek Corner Pizza

My first time to Greek Corner was amazing. I have heard a lot of good things about this place and decided it was time to try it out. I should preface this review by saying, “I LOVE GREEK FOOD”! Maybe love isn’t a strong enough word, “I FREAKING LOVE GREEK FOOD”, it’s my all-time favorite food ever! With that being said, I have super high expectations, which are very rarely met. I started off with the sampler, wonderful fresh Feta Cheese, Dolmades, Hummus, Tzatziki sauce, Olives and pita bread. First off, this is one place that actually gives you enough pita bread, more often than not, I’m not through with a quarter of the Hummus or Tzatziki before I’m all out of pita bread. Thankfully that is not the case at Greek Corner Pizza. I also really enjoyed the Dolmades (stuffed grape leafs) and really wished I had ordered an entire plate of them.. I must say there are slightly better places for hummus in town, but overall everything on the sampler platter was really good!

For my entrée I ordered a Chicken Souvlaki that was OUTSTANDING! The chicken had a great robust flavor and the Tzatziki sauce that accompanied it was out of this world.

Instead of fries, I ordered a Greek salad as my side, my attempt at a healthy diet for the week.. The salad was PERFECTION! Crisp lettuce, fresh feta cheese, cucumbers, olives, tomatoes and a very tasty house Greek dressing. I tend to leave the olives and tomatoes off, but for a non-salad lover it was all amazing! My friend got the Pastichio which is the Greek version of lasagna made with pasta, ground beef and béchamel. The portion looked huge and it most certainly appeared to be less gooey than some Italian lasagna I have tried. My friend raved so much about how good the Pastichio was that I had to beg a bite off of her plate. It really was fantastic and calling it Greek Lasagna does not do it justice.

In addition to the great food, Greek Corner Pizza has that Mom & Pop operation feel to it that always makes me feel at home. The staff is causal, friendly and always helpful. They have two locations in Macon, one downtown and the other is on Vineville Avenue. My favorite is the one on Vineville because it has a drive thru and it much easier to find a parking place! Greek Corner Pizza has become one of my go to places for a meal I can always count on to be prepared right with fresh ingredients.
