Chipolte Closes February 8th

Chipolte Restaurants nationwide stand-down for safety

Chipotle Will Be Closed February 8th, 2016

"When Chipotle opened its first restaurant in 1993, the idea was simple: show that food served fast didn't have to be a “fast-food” experience. Using high-quality raw ingredients, classic cooking techniques, and distinctive interior design, Chipotle brings features from the realm of fine dining to the world of quick-service restaurants."   Chipolte just opened the doors to its first Macon restaurant in March 2015, at 120 Tom Hill Sr. Blvd to lines of hungry patrons.  But according to a report from the AP "Due to the E. coli outbreak that has been plaguing the company since October, Chipotle will close all its stores on Feb. 8 for a national all-employee meeting about the plans to eliminate the issue.  Chipotle said the meeting would provide an opportunity to thank employees, discuss changes and answer questions.

"Chipotle  has suffered from several outbreaks of E. coli, Salmonella and norovirus that infected customers and led to an unrelenting stream of criticism and mockery on social media.  Customers have posted photos of Chipotle meals and joked about getting infected with E. coli or norovirus."
