Mellow Mushroom Is Shaking Things Up A Bit

This Southern pizza chain isn't the first favorite food specialist to try giving Americans more of the dishes they love. Burgers are such a thing that this 40 year old pizzeria chain wanted in on the game. Mellow Mushroom added two burgers to its menu and, in keeping with the chain’s hippie origins and ethos, one of them is vegetarian.
That’s right – Mellow Mushroom is now serving hamburgers.
Mellow Mushroom’s new burgers come in two varieties: vegetarian and beef.
The “Herb,” and its house-made patty consists of that trendy duo of kale and quinoa, plus roasted mushrooms, brown rice, roasted garlic and shallots. It comes on a buttery brioche bun alongside roasted rosemary potatoes and is dressed “Cali style,” with avocado, sweet onions, cheddar, lettuce and tomato.
The “Carnie,” is made with 100% choice, all natural, certified Black Angus Beef. A big plus is that the cows were humanely raised and the beef is minimally. It is available with Swiss cheese, caramelized onions, romaine lettuce, tomato, pickles, and garlic aoli spread.
Both burgers include Mellow Mushroom’s Roasted Potatoes. Red potatoes roasted with crispy caramelized onions, fresh rosemary, kosher salt, fresh garlic and a hint of paprika.More Info
