El Camino Taqueria & Cantina Set to Open March 18, 2016

The Moonhanger Group is excited to announce the opening of long‐anticipated restaurant, El Camino, on Friday, March 18th beginning at 5PM . The restaurant will be adjacent and connected to the Cox Capitol Theatre at 382 Second Street. This marks the completion of the next phase in the evolution of Cox Capitol Theatre.  Since taking over the multi‐purpose venue, Moonhanger Group has made numerous upgrades including concert lighting, an additional bar, and layout improvements designed to elevate customer experience. The March 18th Grand Opening will include a free concert by Lee Fields & The Expressions at 8PM . A limited El Camino menu will also be offered at the March 10th Ceelo Green and the March 12th Indigo Girls concerts. For a full concert calendar, visit .

Moonhanger Executive Chef ‐ Doug Sanneman, long‐time Dovetail Chef ‐ Brad Stevens, Moonhanger Beverage Director ‐ Justin Cunningham and interior designer ‐ Carrie Robinson have collaborated with Moonhanger owners Wes & Betsy Griffith and Chad Evans to offer up downtown Macon’s first taqueria. Guests can expect simple and refined menus focusing on tacos, tortas and tequilas. Smoked and braised proteins, fresh ingredients, chef‐inspired cremas and salsas, high‐quality tequilas and mezcals will populate the menu.
El Camino’s initial hours of operation will be Tuesday‐Thursday, 11am – 10pm and Friday‐Saturday, 11am‐10:30pm.

A small job fair will be hosted on Monday, March 7th from 1PM‐5PM at the Cox Capitol Theatre. Positions available include front of house and back of house. The restaurant will run as a full‐service dining experience. Please direct all employment questions to [email protected] .
