Ocmulgee Brewpub Coming to Second Street

In case you have not noticed, the downtown Macon scene is kind of a big deal.

New Restaurant and Bar Coming to Second Street

Many of you have asked us about the new building façade going up on Second Street near Bearfoot Tavern’s newest location.  So we reached out to Josh Andrews of ECI Construction last week and asked him to tell us more about what is in store for Second Street.  According to Andrews, 474 Second Street will be transformed into a restaurant and bar with loft apartments above.  When we asked Andrews to be a little more specific about what type of restaurant and bar that would be opening he declined to comment further, but did tell us that downtown Macon should expect it to open Summer 2016.  We will continue to keep you updated as we hear more.

UPDATE 3-29-2016

While we don't have any more additional information about 474 Second Street, great things are coming to 484 Second Street!

For Immediate Release: March 28th, 2016

Ocmulgee Brewpub “Where the Water Boils Up!”

We didn’t choose Ocmulgee Brewpub, it chose us. For thousands of years the Ocmulgee River has been the
lifeblood of this area, and at the heart of Macon’s economic and ecological systems. We believe that the
artistry and craftsmanship used in brewing our beers allows us to bottle a sense of adventure and creativity -
pardon the pun - so that others can enjoy the labors of our hard work and the joys of fermentation. We
believe the best of Macon will “boil up” around our tables & taps, much like the great societies and cultures
that weave a vibrant fabric of history and civilization throughout Macon’s past, present & future.

Ocmulgee Brewpub embodies a return to an era of community where food was sourced naturally,
conversation served as a civic foundation, Macon citizens were explorers seeking new frontiers, and most
importantly, where people enjoyed well-crafted fermented beverages!

The customer experience you will find at Ocmulgee Brewpub will be unlike any other in Macon (or the
Southeast for that matter). We will curate the best brews, gourmet burgers, super food salads and hand
cut fries in town, served by friendly & knowledgeable staff. When you trust your time with us, you won’t be
disappointed. We aim to exceed your expectations so that you can be sure you will have a one-of-a-kind
high quality experience. Ocmulgee Brewpub selects only the finest grains, hops, yeast, and Macon water
(best tasting in the country) to form their brews.

In addition to serving excellent beer and food, Ocmulgee Brewpub will have an intentional focus on highlighting
the active lifestyle and environment surrounding the Ocmulgee River, whether that be by biking the Heritage
Trail, hiking at the National Monument, or floating the Ox Bow at Amerson River Park.

It’s time that Macon went back to the source of our adventure. Business or pleasure; it doesn't get any
better than craft beer, good food, the Ocmulgee River and great people. Come join us Where the Water
Boils Up, on Wednesday, March 30th at 4:30PM for our unveiling event at 484 Second Street, Macon.
Our
management team and partners, Clark Nexsen Architectural/Engineering Firm, along with support from the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce, will be on site to officially announce the first and only brewpub in all of
Middle Georgia, unveil artist concept designs, answer questions, and take input on our concept drawings.
Georgia craft beers and artisan style pub food will be served as well. We believe Ocmulgee Brewpub will
serve as a community crown jewel for many years to come while reminding residents of the rich Macon heritage that surrounds us.
