Film Screening of "Get on Up" at the historic Douglas Theater 

For Black History month, the Douglass will present films every Friday that are based on true black stories. Sponsored by Cox Communications, the event is free and open to the public.

This event will have an opening reception at 7 p.m. with the screening at 7:30 p.m.

About "Get On Up"

This 2014 film depicts the life and career of James Brown, who recorded his first single “Please, Please, Please” at the studio of WIBB in Macon. It is rated PG-13 and stars Chadwick Boseman from the Jackie Robinson biopic “42”
