1. Ming's Restaurant
Obviously we are not alone in our love of Ming’s, all you Maconites were voting hard to make sure it topped our top 5 Chinese takeout list! There are a few reasons why Ming’s deserves the top slot in our opinion. The prices are extremely reasonable for both college student budgets and those with tight purse strings and an ardent love of Chinese food. Reason number two: the food is fantastic, ask anyone that’s a regular at Ming’s and they will recommend their favorite dish to you.
Their fried rice might just be the best in Macon and their sweet and sour shrimp is a must try. Ming’s also sets itself apart by offering healthy dishes that are sure to appeal to those looking for more waistline conscious options.

In a world where appearances matter, Mandarin is the most stylish Chinese restaurant in Macon by far. In addition to providing great take out service they also score high marks for a sit down Chinese dinner. They provide a very extensive menu that tends to be more authentic Chinese opposed to others that provide a mish-mash of Asian cooking. Mandarin always has a consistent management team running the operations front-end and that makes a big difference when it comes to getting your take-out fast and getting home with exactly what you ordered. The food quality is always fresh and you can order the same meal three times and get the same quality each time. If you choose to dine in you will find a great atmosphere and very attentive and friendly service.

3. China Inn
The reason China Inn is high up on our Top 5 list can be summed up in one word, consistency. Year after year they have provided a consistent quality to their food and when you order from China Inn you know exactly what to expect. The fact they offer both Chinese and Japanese style teriyaki and hibachi also makes them an excellent choice for take-out based a diversity of their menu. When you order from China Inn you can rest assured the order you take home is correct and you almost never have to wait more than 15 minutes even during the dinner rush hour. Often times take-out preference is based on location or proximity to your home. China Inn is a rare exception since they are worth passing by closer establishments due to their high quality and consistent service.

4. Chen's Wok
Who doesn’t love a good Chinese restaurant? Chen’s Wok on Northside Drive is one of the best. They have a pretty standard menu as far as Asian food goes, but the difference here is the taste. They have a beef and garlic that is like a party in your mouth. I have a friend that loves the Volcano Chicken, he also likes things on the spicy side. Everything there is so fresh tasting and the staff is incredibly friendly. If you haven’t tried Chen’s, you should.

5. Panda Express
As far as chains go, Panda Express is one of the best. Fast service, clean atmosphere, and consistent food quality. Some may still not be convinced to jump on the “chain restaurant” bandwagon, but its impressive when as restaurant has a completely open kitchen so you can see the food being made. The ordering process is reminiscent of the “old school” cafeteria line, where you choose from the precooked selections. So if you are looking for the fast-food version of Chinese food, then be sure to put Panda Express on your personal top 5 list.
