The calendar may say Fall is almost here, but it's still hot Hot HOT! Here are our top 5 places to go river rafting in Middle Georgia and beyond.
1. Ocmulgee River (Macon Area)
Our own Ocmulgee River offers a fine day on the water, from various parklands and into downtown. Locally owned and operated Ocmulgee Outdoor Expeditions offers equipment rentals, quick floats and half-day events, shuttles, and more.
2. Ocmulgee River (Juliette Area)
With a short ride to the north, you can kayak or tube down another stretch of the Ocmulgee River, ending your excursion in Juliette. While you're there, visit the sites of the filming of Fried Green Tomatoes and EAT some fried green tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe.
3. Flint River
About an hour west of Macon you can visit the Fling River Outdoor Center and take 1-2 hour tube floats, 6 and 8 person rafts, or 1/2, 1, or 2 day canoe and kayak trips on the Flint River.
4. Altamaha River
About an hour and a half Southeast of Macon, the Ocmulgee and Oconee come together to form the Altamaha River. Three Rivers Outdoors provides equipment rentals for self-guided as well as guided trips, shuttle service, and even catering for large groups.
5. Chatooga River
