1. BBQ In Your Own Backyard
Even if you don’t want to be the ones grilling out this 4th of July- what’s better than gathering your friends and family to have a potluck, you can pick up your favorite BBQ (WE LOVE FRESH AIR) and enjoy the hopefully beautiful weather.
2. Lake Tobesofkee: 20th Annual Sparks Over The Park Independence Day Celebration
Macon-Bibb County will host the 20th Sparks Over the Park Independence Day Celebration at Lake Tobesofkee. All of the parks at Lake Tobesofkee will be open, there will be a live band, and the day will conclude with a fireworks show. Claystone and Arrowhead Parks will open at 6:00 a.m., and Sandy Beach and the beaches will open at 9:00 a.m. Lifeguards will be on duty beginning at 9:00 a.m. During the day, there will be normal activities such as swimming, boating, sunbathing, picnics, disc golf, volleyball, and more. At 6:00 p.m., the Loose Skrews will begin playing at Sandy Beach, and the fireworks show will start about 9:30 p.m. Admission to the parks is $3.00 for every person over age six, and no alcohol or glass containers are allowed in the parks.
3. Independence Day Celebration- Warner Robins
Gates open at 6pm at McConnell Stadium in Warner Robins. Veteran Southern rockers 38 Special will be the guest artists at this event. The shows finale will include fireworks times to music.
4. Death On Two Wheels- Friday July 4th 10:30p-1:40am
You might not be the people who enjoy fireworks, what is better than watching a band rock out on a Friday Night. Death On Two Wheels will be playing at the Hummingbird! Come check them out! It’s $5 dollars to get in. Click for more info.
5. Ol' Time Independence Day at Jarrell Plantation
Put on your red, white and blue, pack a picnic, and spend a day on the farm. Hear the Declaration of Independence at noon and compete in sack race, three legged race, egg toss, and other events. Watch blacksmiths, steam engineers, quilters, and other skills of the past. $4.00-$6.50 478-986-5172
